MS Imaging Software Question

Hi all

 

May well be OT this one but......

 

The recent release of MS updates has disassociated the MS Document Imaging

software from tiff images.

This causes us a headache because we scan all drawings to this format.

The alternative picture and fax viewer is hopeless for this.

 

So the question is.........

 

Does anyone actually understand why the MS Imaging software is considered a

vulnerability?

Will the danger posed by this problem be negated by the fact that users are

behind a corporate firewall or is it not-that-kind-of-problem?

What risk is run by re-associating this software with tiffs?
