Guest shaz Posted November 6, 2007 Posted November 6, 2007 Recently my computer crashed and although I was able to restore the registry, the usb ports no longer work. I get the following message: "Ntkern.vxd device loaders for this device could not load the device driver (code2)." the solution is suppose to be to download the UHCD.sys file. which i have done. However when i ran the exe file i could not see where on my pc it had been installed and the current uhcd.sys file has not been modified/deleted. Also after restarting my pc the usb ports still do not work. any suggestions as to where i am going wrong? thanks

UHCD.SYS belongs by default in c:\windows\system32\drivers 2. Standard procedure for hardware difficulties is: -- get updated drivers and store in a known place -- via / Control Panel / System / Device Manager simply remove the device(s); then -- reboot and follow the prompts to restore drivers; if the boot process fails to find "New Hardware" you can use the applet / Control Panel / Add Hardware. Did you try this? Repost here with results. -- Don Phillipson Carlsbad Springs (Ottawa, Canada)
