I'm using Windows XP Home. I have Russian installed as a second language, for my wife to use. Just a couple of programs, which work fine in other respects, are given in places in Russian instead of English. For example, Google Earth works fine, but in add and remove programs, it's listed in Russian. My Lexmark X74 All in One works fine but when scanning, it's option to scan to photo editor is in Russian. Other options are in English. i've had one or two other problems like this. I can't remember what they are. I just gave up because I was given Russian instead of English.Since I've enjoyed help for other problems at this forum, I thought I'd bring this one along. in Control panel, Regional and Language Options - English is selected as primary language. In Advanced, Russian is selected as the secondary language.

Explain again, a bit clearer if possible, what you want help with.

Does your wife NEED the Russian installed?

What exactly is the problem here?

sorry, it just all seems a bit confusing.

I'm sorry for the confusion. I have Russian installed on the PC because that's my wife's main language. just a few of the programs we have installed, like Google Earth and our Lexmark all in one printer, show just one or two things in Russian. eg Google Earth works fine, but it 's listed in 'all programs' in Russian. Also the printer shows everything in English, but in the box with options to scan to, while all options are in English, like email, fax etc, photo-editor is listed in Russian. I've done nothing about this before because it doesn't really bother us, but I remember once having a Quicktime update install box appear in Russian. While I know a little Russian, I don't know enough for updating in Russian. We have a keyboard which we bought in Belarus, set for US English and Russian on the keys. I hope I've made myself clear enough. It's a problem I find hard to explain.
