Match Posted February 3, 2009 Posted February 3, 2009 Hi just curiosity really, but I was just looking at this and thought I'd have a little play (Wouldn't believe how much trouble that gets me into) But anyway the thing is I hardly use Internet Explorer and normally use Firefox, and I was just wondering if there was a similar application that supports Firefox? Match Posted February 3, 2009 Author Posted February 3, 2009 In fact after having a quick look it would seem that there are quite a few to choose from so I will rephrase my first question to is there one that you would recommend. Quote
RandyL Posted February 3, 2009 Posted February 3, 2009 Well there is HouseCall. I have used it with some success in the past but since it's been quite a while I don't know how up to date it is these days. I would just fire up the IE and run Eset if I were you. Is there any reason why you are scanning? If you think you have an infection we would be happy to assist you. Quote We are all members helping other members. Match Posted February 3, 2009 Author Posted February 3, 2009 There's no particular reason why I'm scanning just reading through the posts and thought I'd have a look, after having a look thought that there might be other people like me that use other web browsers, Just basic curiosity really. I've been caught out a couple of times and I'm a firm believer in over kill. so generally I have ether two drives or one partitioned so that all the programs and OS get kept on C, and all documents, media etc are kept on E, first sign of infection that has got past my AV and C gets Formatted as like last week :( (no excuse for complacency) Quote
Goku Posted February 4, 2009 Posted February 4, 2009 Hello Match. I understand your reluctancy to switch from Firefox, even temporarily. Therefore to get around this, you can use the IE Tab add-on that will provide you with both; the security of Firefox and the functionality of Internet Explorer. Hope that helps. :) -- Goku Quote
DirtyPolo Posted February 4, 2009 Posted February 4, 2009 Also, Goku's idea is very good as it works, but just to add, eventhough you may use another browser, all versions of Windows have IE, so it's not too difficult to just open it up and use it for a scan. But I also understand the fact you don't want to stray from Firefox or other browsers, being a firefox user myself :P Quote Cooler Master HAF 932Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 @ 3.3GHzAsus P5K Premium Black Pearl2GB OCZ reaper 1066MHZATI Radeon HD4850Pictures!
