My users do not get a default printer when they login to a terminal server

session. I would like to be able to have their default printer from their

desktop as the default printer. Is there any way to do this?

Thanks

Re: default printer

Check the configuration of printer redirection in the RDP clients

on the user's workstations, on the Terminal Server (in TS

Configuration and any GPOs that are applied to the Terminal

Server), update the RDP client to the version that comes with

Windows Server 2003 (located in C:\WINDOWS\system32\clients

\tsclient\win32\msrdpcli.msi).

If you still don't see your desktop printer redirected in the TS

session, check the EventLog on the terminal Server for any printer

related warnings and errors.

Using the information from the Events, map the printers to a native

driver by creating a custom ntprintsubs.inf file, as described in

KB article 239088:

239088 - Windows 2000 Terminal Services Server Logs Events 1111,

1105, and 1106 - applies to 2003 as well

Re: default printer

I believe my problem is with the local security policy. I altered it a

couple years ago and I cannot remember all the changes I made. Is there a

way to restore the default local security policy? I had a group policy

applied to this machine but have removed that but still not allowed to set a

default printer.

Thanks
