I will guarantee anonymity except in cases of blatant abuse. I will achieve anonymity by tallying the results in uncorrelated tabulations and then deleting the emails. (I know this loses interesting correlation data, but if resondents want anonymity it's hard to avoid.) All we want is to get him tucked nicely in a cell and then we go off duty. "C'mon, fella!" he said to me. I turned to pick up my case. "Aw, you won't want that," he said, hustling me along. On an afterthought he snapped the handcuffs round my wrists. "Oh, you don't want that," called the Captain. "He can't run anywhere, and how will he get down to your boat?" "He can fall in the drink and we will fish him out," replied the policeman, laughing coarsely. Climbing down the ladder was not easy, but I managed it without mishap, to the obvious regret of the police. Once on the cutter, they took no more notice of me.
