Guest Michele Hamilton Posted November 10, 2007 Posted November 10, 2007 Forgive me if I'm in the wrong place to ask for help. We have a Server 2003 machine. The man who was setting it up died. Every thing seems to be done except for users being added (from other machines). I need to know how to add, say, Mike and Jackie each with their own folders and permissions and a group folder for all. Is there an article on that somewhere?:) I appreciate it:) The server drive already shows up on each machine. Michele:)
Guest Jabez Gan [MVP] Posted November 10, 2007 Posted November 10, 2007 RE: permissions You will need to create the user in Active Directory Users and Computers (Under Control panel -> Administrative tools). Once done, configure folder redirection for the users. More info on folder redirection can be found at http://support.microsoft.com/kb/232692 Hope this helps. :) -- Jabez Gan [MVP] http://www.blizhosting.com http://www.msblog.org "Michele Hamilton" wrote: > Forgive me if I'm in the wrong place to ask for help. Jabez' advice may help you get up and running, but if this isn't your area of expertise, I'd suggest you find another IT consultant/company to come in and make sure everything is configured properly - and show you how to use, maintain, protect and back it up. The company / consultant should document everything for you, too.
