Hello -

Is it possible to have more than two concurrent logons per user with TS 2000

or 2003? For example, can I have one user with 8 concurrent TS sessions to

the same server?

Thanks in advance,

mk

Yes, if you configure the server to allow multiple sessions per user.

If you are planning to use this feature to allow all of your users to

connect to the TS with a generic shared user account, then I would

strongly recommend against it.

Since all sessions will share the same profile, you are likely to

experience problems with redirected printers and corrupt user

profiles.

Vera -

Thank you very much for your response and the advice. We will not be using

generic accounts.

Where do I configure "allow multiple sessions" on the server? Is this a TS

setting or a Local Security setting?

TIA,

mk

Re: Concurrent Logons

On a 2003 TS, you'll find it in Terminal Services Configuration -

Server settings.

But the easiest way to configure this is in a Group Policy:

Computer Configuration - Administrative templates - Windows

Components - Terminal Services

"Restrict Terminal Services Users to a single remote session"

Configure this setting to "Disabled"

On a W2K TS, it's enabled by default.
