Printer Redirect issue

Recommended Posts

I have TS 2003 running wirh printer redirst working for most users.

I new user has a Multi-Funtion printer Canon MPC600F

I get to following error:

Driver Canon MPC600F Printer required for printer Canon MPC600F Printer is

unknown. Contact the administrator to install the driver before you log in

again.

I downloaded the driver and tryed to install the driver for the server (used

the printer redirect wizard) but I do not have a print only driver, only the

whole suite.

I do not want to(not can I) install the full application on the server.

Is there a generic driver to fix issues like this?

Re: Printer Redirect issue

Multi-function printers are not very well suited for redirection in

a TS session. Most drivers are not compatible, and you will not get

multi-functionality.

You can either try to get basic printing by mapping the printer to

a native window driver (recommended approach - see KB 239088), or

try to unpack the Canon package, locate the proper .inf file,

right-click it and install the driver only (use this method at your

own risk!).
