Guest George Nussbaum Posted November 13, 2007 Posted November 13, 2007 Hi all, I have noticed that we have had random shutdowns of servers. Some actually still ping, but you cannot get to a console or other interface to see what is wrong and have to reboot them. The only thing that shows up in the Event logs is the "The server shut down unexpectedly...". I checked the power sources that they are connected to and the are fine. Any thoughts as to what it might be? Also, we run virus scanners, so I'm pretty confident that it isn't that. Thanks, George

I am facing the same issue with Windows 2003 server. No event logs. When I connect to it from RDP it asks for a reason for the shutdown. Beats me! A few days ago a Korean bot launched a password attack on the FTP service, if this is relevant. Regards
