TS2k3 Explorer Issue

Hi,

I have one 2k3 TS that is doing something strange. If any user connects

to it, with drive redirection turned on, instead of seeing

Z:\user's comuter name\C

they see

z:\Some other user's computer name\C

If you click on the z drive, you do get your local drive, so it is just that

the name in explorer is incorrect.

And it is the SAME "some other user's computer name" for everyone.

Any ideas where to look for this one?

Thanks,

One further point I just found out. The user whose name is showing up on

all the drives is using the Beta Mac client on Jaguar.

Re: TS2k3 Explorer Issue

Yes, there have been a number of identical reports about this

problem with the Mac RDC 2.0 beta, both in this newsgroup and in

microsoft.public.mac.rdc and microsoft.public.mac.rdc.rdc2

Please use the feedback link here

http://www.microsoft.com/mac/downloads.aspx?

pid=download&location=/mac/download/MISC/RDC2.0

_Public_Beta_download.xml

to file this as a bug, or post a "me too" on existing bug reports.

Ok..did that. Is there anything I can do on the server side to clean this

up in the meantime?

Re: TS2k3 Explorer Issue

Sorry, can't help you with that. I haven't touched a Mac for over

10 years, so I can't do any testing. Try the mac.rdc newsgroups for

more help.

Are you saying that the problem persists even when the Mac user

logs off?

Until the bug in Mac RDC 2.0 beta is fixed, I would ask the user to

either refrain from disk redirection (maybe you can offer another

method for file transfer, like FTP), or go back to Mac RDC 1.0.3,

which didn't have this isssue.

Re: TS2k3 Explorer Issue

Yes, the problem does persist after the user logs off. I try the other NG.

Thanks.
