loli Posted February 14, 2009 Posted February 14, 2009 Every time I turn my pc off that time & date go back to the year it was first made! I also have to press F2 to start it up but i've no idea why! It's also very slow not just online but in normal programmes such as Word etc. My word programme is also freezing - took me 3 hours to do a 20 min document last week! Quote
RandyL Posted February 14, 2009 Posted February 14, 2009 Hi loli; The first issue is likely your CMOS battery needs replacing which is very easy and cheap to do. A slow computer can be caused by different things. A failing drive, too many startup items and malware come to mind. What is the make, model and number of your PC? How old is it? Is it a laptop? Do you have an antivirus and if so what? Why are you prompted to press F2? More info will help the team and members help you. Quote We are all members helping other members. BeeCeeBee Posted February 14, 2009 Posted February 14, 2009 Im guessing you can't answer RandyLs last question as to why. I suspect that it is related to the battery issue. Please try to answer the rest so we can give you a hand. If you are not sure, just ask. Quote "Familiarity breeds contempt - and children." Mark Twain
