before i continue with the problem.

im running genuine windows 10 pro.. and have updated to new anniversary version.

pc is i5 6500. 16gb ddr4 . 120gb ssd for system.

it seems to me that windows defender is working fine but i have doubt.. because

i accidentally ran a 'patcher' with administrator permission.. and after few minutes i changed my mind and closed that patcher and i quickly run a scan using WD also using quick scan method.

after finished scan without any threat. i was not satisfied.so i went into security settings and for the very first time wanted to try using the WD offline scan.

once i clicked the button Scan Offline. nothing seems to happen.

i went into an elevated powershell to run 'Start-MpWDOScan' and hitting enter also doesn't do anything. I expect it should reboot/restart my pc but nothing happen.

also at the time before i was executing the patcher. i had disabled the internet by disabling the network card in the network adapter settings.

my question is:

am i already been hijacked by a malware?

i am convinced at this point that.. that patcher had disabled the offline scan even though i didn't patch anything just yet.

i am still offline at this point.is it safe to go online?

how can i enable the offline scan turning it back on?

please advise!!
