Guest Steve Posted November 15, 2007 Posted November 15, 2007 I have instructions from Microsoft on how to fix an update problem. They tell me to rename my software distrubtion folder. But when I try to rename it, I get the message that it cannot be done because the folder may be in use or the disk is write protected. How to get around this? -- Steve

Guest Meinolf Weber Posted November 15, 2007 Posted November 15, 2007 Re: Server 2003 Renaming folders Hello Steve, Open services.msc from the run line stop the automatic update service. Then you can rename it, after it start the service again and the folder will be new created. If the updates are run then just delete the old renamed folder to save disk space, it will never be used again.
