So what's the situation? 0x80070426 is the error code I see when Restarting or Rebooting (like, after an Update) but it does not appear when I turn the machine from OFF to ON,

 

 

Is this a glitch in Defender that the Techs should be addressing (it has only started since the last cumulative update).

 

 

Can I safely ignore it by just turning Defender on myself and updating it?

 

 

(Which seems to have no problems running)

 

 

OR should I turn my device completely off and then back on thereby avoiding the error altogether?

 

 

Any ideas?

 

 

 

Postscript: I should add that I ran SFC/SCANNOW and it found no integrity violations.
