Has anybody dealt with www.fastfixtech.com and are they a legit company?

While on the internet, supposedly I had a "malware problem" and all functions on my laptop seemed to freeze up. A warning popped up with a phone number to call, along with an audio message that my computer would be blocked from the internet because of malware detected on it. The phone number was to a technical firm known as fastfixtech.com, which led me to believe that they did third-party work for Microsoft. Just wondering if they are legit, or did I just get screwed out of $300?
