hi i am trying to connect my pc to my tv. it displays the bootup screen and then the microsoft loading screen then goes blank and say's no sync. I have connected my laptop to the same tv with no problems at all. the tv is a sony kdl 32s300 if that helps.

Hi,

 

It sounds to me like your PC is set to a screen resolution which your TV does not support. More than likely it will be a higher screen resolution.

 

Try the following:

 

 

• Click Start -> Control Panel
  
• Double click on Display
  
• Click on the Settings tab
  
• Move the Screen Resolution slider down to 800 x 600 or there abouts
  
• Click Apply
  

Once done, try reconnecting and restarting your PC.

Hi have you checked the refresh rate settings should be in the same section as your screen resolution?

yes the tv manual says for vga 640 x 480 but the lowest i can seem to get my pc is 800 x 600. not sure if it can be made to go lower or if i need to add something to my pc??

refresh rate should be in Htz and I've never heard of a resolution below 800 x 600 and the

Display Resolution : 1366 x 768p (HD)

so you should be able to get 1280 x 720
