Guest gold_exp Posted November 15, 2007 Posted November 15, 2007 Have a new MS 2003 server, installed SCSI card and DLT tape drive from old server to new. How do I get the tape library on to the new server so I can read and use tapes created on the old box?

What backup software do you use? Guest gold_exp Posted November 15, 2007 Posted November 15, 2007 Re: NT Backup migration? I can see the SCSI card and tape drive fine. I'm using the NT backup, I want to be able to use tapes created on the old server. Is there a file to move from old to new with the catalog/library inventory info making the tapes useable? Guest Meinolf Weber Posted November 15, 2007 Posted November 15, 2007 Re: NT Backup migration? Hello gold_exp, Check if you can find the catalogs here %SystemRoot%\Documents and Settings\Account\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Windows NT\NTBackup\catalogs Where Account is the user account that is logged on to Windows while it is performing the backup. These catalogs typically all appear on the Restore tab in NTBackup so that you can select which parts of the backup set you want to restore.
