For a couple of days I have been having trouble with my Windows 10 computer. Although I could be wrong, I think I have narrowed it down to Definition Update for Windows Defender - KB2267602 (Definition 1.227.2312.0). Windows tries over and over to download the file and fails. I have two other Windows updates waiting to be downloaded -- Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1511 for x64-based Systems (KB3185614) and Update for Windows 10 Version 1511 for x64-based Systems (KB3150513) -- but neither get the chance to download because Windows just keeps trying to download the Defender definition file.

This morning I turned on my computer and it took about two hours trying to update and then failed, leaving me right where I was yesterday.

I have no idea what to do next. I don't see a way to tell Windows to ignore the Defender definition file and upload the other files; nor do I know if that would help.

Any help would be appreciated.

note: my 5 year old computer has 148 gigabites free space on my C drive. I have 12 gigs ram and a quad core processor. I upgraded to Windows 10 a few weeks ago with no problems at all until now.
