Allowing pop ups?

Hi folks,

 

Wonder if anyone can assist me with a problem please?

 

I use Mozilla Firefox as my Browser and use Sugar CRM daily for my work.

 

I have noticed lately that I am not getting all of the drop downs I once used to on certain web sites and in particular Sugar - say if I need to add a contact I can't get the drop down to add the info?!

 

I am told it may be down to my system blocking pop ups but I don't understand how I get that resolved.... does anyone here know what I need to do?

If you just want pop ups allowed on a single site on Firefox. Go to that site and you should get a pop up blocked message along the top of the page. If you click on it it will give you the option to allow pop ups on that site without disabling then pop up blocker for all sites.

I know what you're referring to - and no I don't get that coming up... literally nothing happens when I click in a field that should open up a drop down or take you to more info....it's like you have clicked on a field that isn't a link to anything if you see what I mean...

 

For example I have just clicked on the (more) smiley icons link to the right of this text box for more faces to add one after my text - and nothing happens at all!

Does the same thing happen if you try it in Internet Explorer?

Although this is not likely the issue it might not hurt to rule out a mouse issue by trying a new one.

 

Also do you have this same problem if you use Internet Explorer version 6 or 7?

And yes - things seem to work fine in Internet Explorer - thank you - guess the easy answer here is simply use that and forget Firefox then?!

Cass you could try updating FireFox to the newest version if you have not already.

 

Also it might be a FirefFox add-on. Try removing any of those.

 

Also you could try uninstalling and reinstalling FireFox.

To allow your site to display popups you can try the following: (This method is a manual method compared to the method Barry was saying about the popup bar)

 

Step1

Select the tools menu near the top of the Firefox window and click the Options tab.

 

 

Step2

Select the Content icon at the top of the Options window. Find the line that reads “Block pop-up windows” and click the "Exceptions" button next to it.

 

 

Step3

In the field under the text that reads “Address of web site,” enter the full URL of the site for which you wish to allow popup windows. Click the "Allow" button to add it to your exception list.

 

 

Step4

Continue adding URLs as necessary until all of your exceptions have been added, then close the Allowed Sites window and the Options window
