sflpete Posted February 16, 2009 Posted February 16, 2009 We are in a situation where my wife is in another state and she has the problem but no way to get online. Seems that she has a solid Internet connection, Vista Home Premium but a 'busted' IE ver 7. She has the Dell disks but doesn't want to rebuild everything. Is there an easy way to reinstall IE while leaving everything else intact. She has used System restore with no positive effect. Can we use the program or driver cd's to just reinstall IE. We are a little out of touch with Vista so a 'For Dummies' type answer. Thanks SFLPete Quote
RandyL Posted February 16, 2009 Posted February 16, 2009 Hi pete; How do you know she has a good internet connection? We really should make sure of that first. How does she connect to the internet? After we establish a few facts there are a couple things to try. Reset IE Defaults and see if that works. Install the FireFox browser and see if that works. Of course she will have to download it from another computer and put it on a disk to install it. Quote We are all members helping other members. Maz Posted February 19, 2009 Posted February 19, 2009 I believe Internet explorer 7 comes with vista as default wouldn't a system repair fill in any damaged files? i don't think there is anyway to fully roll back ie7 although you could always try downloading a different version and seeing if that works?
