Hi, I have an Intel Core 2 duo e6400 running on xp pro with all correct updates. I've taken out my nvidia 7600GS and tried to install a Sapphire Radeon 4850 but without much success. I've uninstalled the Invidia drivers and put the radeon card in, the pc boots into windows, runs for a few seconds but then momentarily changes to a blue screen which mentions a new hardware problem before restarting the whole thing again Any ideas? I just bought this and fear that I am going to have to return it!

In sure it is just an oversight but you mention uninstalling the old drivers but no reference to installing drivers for the new one. If you did was it before or after you seated the card?

First I installed the radeon drivers

First I installed the radeon drivers after uninstalling the nvidia drivers, shut down and then connected the card, booted up but same blue screen. I then uninstalled all graphics drivers and booted up only to see the windows new hardware screen but just when I try to make use of that- blue screen again!!!

When you boot your computer, after the boot screen press F8 to get to the Advanced Startup Options.

Select Disable automatic restart on system failure

and press Enter

This time when it crashes you should get a blue screen, can you let us know the crash error.

Its the top of the screen error and the STOP error that are important.

Thanks, I think I've spent to long on this, I'll return it to Amazon, I had taken photo with my DSLR but I think they've been deleted. I've packed the card up now, shame....thanks!
