Guest Robert Lindholm Posted November 16, 2007 Posted November 16, 2007 Hello: When trying to install the Recovery Console from the original Windows Server 2003 [standard Edition] media onto a machine that is now at SP2, I receive the following setup error message: "Setup cannot continue because the current version of Windows on your computer is newer then the version on your CD." While it would have been preferable to have installed the Recovery Console during the initial setup, I would like to have the Recovery Console installed on this machine prior to any future disaster. While I understand that you can envoke the Recovery Console retroactively from the install media, I don't have a high level of confidence that this functionality will be available until I resolve this issue and would prefer to have it already installed to simplify matters during the troubleshooting/recovery process. Is this a known issue and are there any workarounds/soluiotns to this issue? Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated... Bob -- Robert Lindholm University of Rochester
