Disk volume indicated "At Risk" with yellow triangle

In server 2003, under disk management on one of the volumes there is a

little yellow triangle, and the disk states it's 'at risk'. This is a SAN

volume attached to the server. What is this and what should we do to resolved

this issue? When you right click the volume the options are to re-activate

the disk. Any ideas as to what to do?
