Guest Robert Lindholm Posted November 16, 2007 Posted November 16, 2007 Hello: I realize that the Automated System Recovery [ASR] process is different then the Emergency Recovery Disk [ERD] process, but its unclear if I can simply create an ASR disk or can an ASR disk only be created as part of a NTBackup operation? With ERD, you could make an ERD floppy without having to perform an additional backup using NTBackup, but with ASR, it seems as if you need to "piggyback" the ASR process onto a NTBackup. Is there a way to create an ASR disk without performing a NTBackup or if that's not possible, what is the minimal NTBackup type or more specifically how do you select the least amount of data to be backed up during the creation of an ASR disk or am I looking at this incorrectly and should simply be creating a new ASR disk every time I perform a backup using the NTBackup utility? Thanks, Bob -- Robert Lindholm University of Rochester
