Configure default profile

How can I configure a default profile for new terminal server users? This is

a Win2K TS, although it will likely be upgraded to Win2003 TS soon.

I don't want to force them back to this with each logon; I just want to save

myself some time by having a default desktop that removes the temptation to

use IE & My Documents via the terminal server, etc. They will need to copy

various start menu icons to their desktops after the initial logon

I want to customize these items. Right now, I log on as each user one time

to configure these before the user logs on:

No Internet Explorer on desktop

No My Docs on desktop

Desktop colors (I always start them at black)

Turn off transition effects

Turn off the default screen saver

Note: some of the things that you mention can also be configured

with Group Policies.

Re: Configure default profile

I have an Exchange server setup, is there a way of setting up Outlook

automatically (rather than me having to go in and create the account for the

1st time). I.E Outlook picks up the email server and user account details,

based on the login. Perhaps by using some sort of global setting

%username%?

Re: Configure default profile

I've never managed Exchange, so I don't know. But I've seen this

question + answer here at least once a month. Search through the

posts in this ng, or post a new thread with "Exchange" or

"Outlook" in the subject line.

Re: Configure default profile

Thank you. I had completely forgotten about copying a profile to do this.
