My power schemes have

disappeared. What file(s) do I download from the cd in order to restore the

schemes? Thanks.

Please read my reply to you in your prevous post. You'll see that you don't

need the CD to set up those power schemes again.

But in case you're wondering about how to restore the schemes more or less

as they were...

ALWAYS ON power scheme = Standby - NEVER, Monitor off - 10 MINUTES, Hard

drive off - 30 MINUTES

HOME/OFFICE DESK power scheme = Standby - 20 MINUTES, Monitor off - 10

MINUTES, Hard drive off - 30 MINUTES

PORTABLE/LAPTOP power scheme = Standby - 20 MINUTES, Monitor off - 10

minutes, Hard drive off - 25 MINUTES

These may not be exactly the same as they were by default (as I change mine

right after a fresh install) but they're close enough.

I'm sorry for the multiple posts. I usually participate in this

newsgroup thru the OE newsreader but my posts weren't showing up. I've

now accessed this group thru Google.

Not yet. I've never had this happen in all the years I've run W98 SE.

I thought about re-installing Windows over my current installation

(not a reformat) but I'm concerned it would make the whole OS

unstable.
