danlivesey Posted February 18, 2009 Posted February 18, 2009 Ive been have a problem with my new pc ive built and would like some help please. all the info is below hopefully. So i built my first computer and the only problem i have is the computer is it crashing when its left for long periods like say 3 hours at least in screen saver mode, so i ive disconnected my dvd rom from the mother board and my spare hard drive that runs of IDE, it runs fine with out them conected but when i put them back in it crashes the following night, it really only seems to crash when im asleep. it runs fine all day ideas ive tested the cpu on a test at 100 to see if it crashed and nothing Mother board ASUS M2N68 OS Name Microsoft Windows XP Professional Version 5.1.2600 Service Pack 2 Build 2600 System Type X86-based PC amd athlon 64X2 Dual core processer 6000+ 3.10 GHz 2 Gig of ram Graphics card nvidia Geforce 9500 GT super/512 mb / 128 bit /DDR2 Hitachi HDP72505050GLA360 500 GIg HARD DRIVE SATA CONECTION DVD burner light scribe LG SATA CONECTION Quote
pinknfluffy1985 Posted March 7, 2009 Posted March 7, 2009 Are you sure that the motherboard and the CD/DVD drive are compatible? It could be that they are not. You could try phoning the people you got the Drive from and finding out from them what mother boards are compatible. Quote
