Can anyone solve the following problems?

1) In the Bookmarks, the first (useless) entry is "Bookmarks Toolbar

Folder" - how can i get rid of that *permenantly*?

2) The bookmarks background is grey, making entries hard to read - how

can this be changed?

3) Click on add URL to bookmarks, and a stupid, redundant, time-wasting

POPUP prompts to "add in bookmarks" - how to eliminate?

4) Default URL not shown in address bar when launched.

I find no way w/o checking in the registry to rid of it permenantly, however you

can hide it.

In FF on the Menu bar click View > Toolbars, uncheck Bookmarks Toolbar.

If you mean the color of the menubar bookmark dropdown, open Display Properties >

Appearance tab and change the "Menu" color. Take note this will change all menus

colors, not just FF's.

If you mean bookmark opened as side pane, Change the "Window" color. Take note

this will change all window colors, not just FF"s.

I don't see that.

Tools > Options > Main > Startup section - When FF starts - dropdown - select Show

my home page.

Seems that i am totally stuck with that stupid,

redundant,time-wasting popup prompt.

FF "help" states, and i quote via copy and paste:

Bookmark This Page...

Adds the current page to your bookmarks. A dialogue will be displayed,

allowing you to choose a title for the bookmark and specify where you

want it to be stored.

**

#1 and #4 can be fixed with one installation, but not the other.

The difference is that in one, FF was loaded before NS, and

in the other NS was loaded before FF.

It is "interesting" that where FF was loaded first, it is impossible

to get NS to load and work properly (2 attempts, and NS loaded in

differnt folders each time).

Will have to look into what other differnces ther are...

BTW, is there a decent NG interface that works roughly like the NS one?

(Plus one also has another separator-line there taking up space.)

If you take the time to find a solution for this one, please post

it, i wouldn't mind getting rid of these, to me, unused

extra-items in the 'Bookmarks' drop-down menu as well.

This (half-)solution is a little bit sketchy on the details.

Oops, one can delete the separator. I have intentionally left it

there (or perhaps even created it myself) to separate the top

item, the to me unwanted 'Bookmarks Toolbar Folder' item.

Well, where NS was installed befoer FF, both are useable, but the

pesky details regarding bookmarks aer uncontrollable (am not counting

shading of background).

Setting the file as System, ReadOnly and Hidden does no good; FF just

re-names it and copies it to a new file and adds its own junk.
