mr_banana_pants Posted March 3, 2009 Author Posted March 3, 2009 Yeah Image 30209 is the underside heatsink assembly. Theres defiantly the remnants of the old thermal paste there now that its been pointed out. I'll follow your instructions and tell you how I get on. Thanks again Quote
Dalo Harkin Posted March 4, 2009 Posted March 4, 2009 And please dont use lots of paste as this can have a negative effect and dont bother with the spreading of the paste as the pressure from the heatsink will spread it - for a 65nm CPU which is about 8 times the size of the chip you are applying to only needs about a grain of rice size of thermal compound. mr_banana_pants Posted March 6, 2009 Author Posted March 6, 2009 Hi guys. Just give you my update. I've applied the paste. Still nothing. My computer isn't even coming on now. I can hear the fan working. But theres no really boot up and roar of the computer. Nothing loads up on the monitor. Its just blank. I'm presuming the motherboard is dead. Quote
