To those of you who use Gmail and/or Gtalk be very careful if you receive a notice that your account needs updating or that it is about to be canceled (etc.) unless you re-register. It is most likely a fraud that is attacking these google sites in search of passwords and personal information.

A lot of people use Gmail or Gtalk so a very good warning on this latest phishing attack BeeCeeBee.

A few words of warning:

Clicking on a link in a email to validate a signup that you may be waiting for is a legitimate practice. No information will be asked for at that point.

Clicking on a link in a email that asks you to provide information such as an email address, ID, password or anything else is suspect.

If you suspect such a phishing scam do not click on the email link.

Instead enter the url of your site or account into your address bar and access your account that way to check on the status of your account.

Safe habits everyone.
