Can anyone help ?

Every time I use the Euro symbol € in a document , although I see it on the screen correctly , when I come to print it out , it prints as a little square box.

Does anyone know how to fix it ?

You have probably managed to switch your keyboard language to English United States instead of UK.

If you have a UK keybord are your @ and "keys reversed as well?

What are the details of your printer and how old is it?

What version of the Word, Text document are you using Terry as you will probably have to insert it as a symbol from the Character Map.

Sorry for taking so long to reply ; I have been away for a few days.

Some more information for you to try and resolve this little quirk. !

In the last year , I have changed my keyboard ONLY and it is in this period that I have lost the ability to PRINT the Euro symbol. My keypad at the moment is a Logitech Media 600. I can see the euro symbol on the VDU.

HOWEVER , I have just realised that the loss of the printed symbol only occurs when I use BOLD type !! In normal type , it is printed OK !

Apart from the obvious .... don't use bold type with the € ......... have you any more suggestions ?

Since it appears that you have a UK keyboard and the symbol appears on your screen (even in bold?) it would seem that the issue is with your printer.

If you give us the make and model that will be of some help. It does seem that you may need a driver update.

My printer is a HP PSC 1350 all-in-one ......... which was able to print the Euro symbol with my previous keyboard until I changed it !!:confused:

You will be able to find the updated drivers for your printer here:

Select software and drivers*

I would suggest that you just go with the basic drivers rather than the full featured download. It seems that if your bold symbol show up on word it is not the keyboard. For some reason your printer is not processing this command.

If the drivers don't solve the problem then I would suggest installing a different printer if you have access to one. If there is still no solution we will have to dig deeper.
