No Printer showing up for a TS user on new WS

I replaced a workstation on my network and the user does not see ANY printers

when she logs in.

All users launch RDP to connect via TS to our financial software. I know

that TS is picky about print drivers so I try to stick with HP LaserJets that

are compliant.

This user has made this connection for some time and has always seen her two

printers: an OKI Data MicroLine and an HP LaserJet 2020P.

For some reason, no printers are showing up at all!

Any suggestions!

P.S. I just had the user login to a different machine and the printers

showed up.

Thanks!

Have you checked the EventLog on the TS? Should tell you if it is a

driver problem.

What OS is the client running? And which version of the rdp client?

Have you checked the settings for printer redirection on the

client?

Vera,

None of the network shared printers loading, there are no event log entries

for these printers. The user is running Windows XP Pro SP2. I do not know

which version of RDP, it is the one that came with the OS. The printer

settings for redirect are set on both sides for the user on the server and

for the client connection. I have never seen anything like this and I have

setup dozens of these connections.

Re: No Printer showing up for a TS user on new WS

If the server doesn't have any events regarding printer redirection

at the time this user connects, then it means that it doesn't even

attempt to redirect the printers.

Update the rdp client on the workstation to the version that comes

with Windows 2003 SP2, which supports redirection network printers.

You'll find it in C:\WINDOWS\system32\clients\tsclient\win32

\msrdpcli.msi
