Guest Bodie the Dog Posted November 21, 2007 Posted November 21, 2007 I recently inherited a small network running SBS2003 with about 50 XP Pro workstations. My predecessor passed away suddenly and didn't document things well, plus I'm new to the Small Business Server world. Swell. We may have a licensing issue.... Using the Licensing utility I show we have Installed Licenses: 5 and Maximum Usage: 7. My Computer shows we're running Microsoft Windows Server 2003 for Small Business Server. Winver shows the same, version 5.2 Locked away I just found 13 license packs (5 devices each) for "Client Access License for Microsoft Windows Small Business Server 2003 Transition Pack." I'd like to get us correctly licensed, but don't even know that the transition licenses will work. When I attempted to use the License utility to add licenses, it prompted me for a 25-digit code, yet the paper licenses I found in the license packs didn't have any codes at all. So will these license packs work? How do I install them? How come I can attach to the network and domain now, even though we may not be correctly licensed? Am I creating a problem where one doesn't exist? Thanks in advance, BTD
