Guest larry@invalid.com Posted November 21, 2007 Posted November 21, 2007 This is 98se. I keep getting Unknown Devices in control panel / system. I removed them, and keep getting asked to set up drivers everytime I boot up, and have to repeatedly hit CANCEL everytime I boot up. I just reinstalled windows on top of what was there, so I would not lose my settings and programs. Now they are back with the yellow error markers. How the heck am I supposed to know what they are when they just say "Unknown Device"? This is most irritating. Thanks Larry

Windows is telling you it doesn't know the device. What more can it say? It's your computer, so Windows is asking you for the drivers. Maybe Everest can tell you what type of device it is: <http://www.oldversion.com/program.php?n=everesthome>
