AD or DNS first when decomissioning a win2k3 server

Hi,

I am trying to get some help in terms of decommisioning an existing domain

controller which runs the secondary DNS zone.

1) My question is do I uninstall AD first or do I need to remove/delete the

secondary DNS zone from the server.

My thinking is that I need to uninstall AD first, then delete/remove DNS.

2) how do I delete/remove secondary zone DNS ?

Do i right click the zone and press the delete button.

Regards

Hello Vishal,

Run dcpromo and after it you can delete the secondary zone. Check on the

primary zone that also all entries be deleted after the DNS server is retired.
