Ghosting computers with different hardware

Hi,

We have almost 300 computers at our company. At the beginning when we

started we had all computers the same (the same hardware configuration).

We was using symantec ghost for computer clonning. We first install all

software on one machine and later on we ghost it to all 300 machines.

Later on we run Ghostwalk to change name and SID.

Now we have newer and older computers and we have to keep seperate ghost

images for every batch of the computers.

Is there any other solution to clone images to different hardware

configuration without need to have so many different images.

We run Network with 2 Domain controlers running windows 2003.

Where can I find any tutorials about different solutions?

Regards

Marcus

Have a look at Acronis True Image with Universal Restore.

Hello MarcusB,

Windows deployment service (WDS) in 2003 SP2 or Remote installation service

(RIS) in 2003 or in 2003 SP1. RIS is the older version, so better start from

scratch with WDS.

WDS

RIS

Best regards
