Video Performance

I have a client who is using a dual core dual xeon as their terminal

server with about 20 concurrent interactive sessions at any one time

over 1000MB LAN.

They recently asked me if video performance can be improved. My

question is this; Does the video card do any of the processing for the

sessions? The server only has the onboard video from the INTEL

SE7530BD2 at the moment, but has a free pci express 16x slot.

Thanks in advance,

Charlie

Re: Video Performance

No, the terminal server video rendering is 100% done in software.

It does not matter what video card is installed on the

system, so adding a fancy video card to a terminal server will have

no effect on the client experience.

Re: Video Performance

Citrix is a better option in this case.
