Hi Guys,

I am having a nightmare I am using a "budget" USB wireless dongle on my old PC which is XP SP2, to connect upto my Sky Netgear Router.

I have loaded the driver disc up as instructed, and all has installed correctly, I have plugged in the dongle and that connects ok, however for some bizarre reason on the Windows icon in bottom right screen it is showing no wireless connection, when I try to refresh network list it will not bring up any wireless connections available. I can't connect to the internet either.

I have tried rolling back the driver and just plugging the dongle in and letting windows set it up which it does but it still shows no connection with the router and will not pick up any other wireless connections available.

My laptop, internet radio, PS3, mobile, Wii and Ipod touch all connect with no problems atall.

I am lost and going bald!!

Have you set up your wireless network network on this pc kazrobo? Or have you just plugged in the dongle and ran the software?

Netgear routers are nororious for not broadcasting the SSID

plug the lappy into the router using an ethernet cable and see if you can access the net.

I would suspect that as its a Netgear router, you need to enter the home page and add the device.

I did a whole post on this, but cant find it :(
