Hello everyone, WinXP, I have 2 problems that just developed. AVG suddenly said I was infected and I ran the scan, it found 9 and stuck them in the vault, I ran the cCleaner, spybot s&d, malwarebytes and spyware blaster, they all said nothing wrong. Then the AVG shield said it had detected multiple threats, I ran a full pc scan again, it found nothing. Yet the Shield is still popping up every few minutes. It says:

Threat name Exploit Java Script Obfuscation (624)

File name js.tong.jli.cn.yahoo.com/611067/ystat.js

Process name c/program Files\internet explorer\iexplore.exe

This started late yesterday and after I fully scanned twice I tried to find anything to do with these in both search and run. Nothing found. I am very pc ignorant and any help would be highly appreciated, this is a new pc, 2008, I think its Intel, its a factory brand, I have CC cable. Thank you.

Hi Earthspirit, welcome to Extreme Tech Support - Free PC Help.

First off, I think AVG is picking up on a false positive, it is prone to that and other problems, which is why we do not recommend AVG here.

Other than the warning messages, does the rest of the computer run OK, no slowness or other problems?

Have a look at the security software we recommend here first-

http://extremetechsupport.com/forum/malware-removal-av-firewalls-etc/3597-free-pc-help-recommended-security-products.html

select which you would like, if a free one, download it, then uninstall AVG and install the new one.

It is best to disconnect from the internet after the download while you do the uninstall and install the new one.
