DNS Setup

Hi,

 

I have a funny kind of setup ... exchange server is running the main dns

server

 

its dns settings are pointing to itself as primary and for secondary its

pointing to a DC which is running the secondary zone.

 

 

why have exchange server point to DC which is running a backup dns server.

 

Shouldnt it always be able to query itself?

 

Also isnt it a best practice not to run the primary DNS from the exchange

server?
