Hi Guys,Why is it that guests and Members, not logged in, are barred from viewing attachments?

Not even Bob12a,s Flowers.

Seems odd configuration, for Software.

Any reason I wonder?

Just not seen this restriction, on other sites.:)

Frankly I didnt know that the restriction existed but I can see a point as to the why.

Some attachments require a lot of work by our staff and members . Some guests are not guests at all but automated "bots" trolling the site for useful information. We cant control everything but at least we can do our best to protect our and your work product. It is for this same reason that we remove email addresses from member's posts.

This is a common setting on many forums for good reasons as BeeCeeBee has noted.

I won't go into details as to why but it is not without reason.

Thanks Guys.Thought it worth asking the Question.

Emails,yes.I agree that's important.

Attachments,if it was a big issue, then Huge Sites like Bleeping Computer would have the same restrictions.

My Question has been answered.:)
