Error Deleting file or folder when trying to empty recycle bin

We are getting an error when we are trying to empty the recycle bin on a

windows 2003 Service Pack 2 server. It says the following "cannot remove

folder. cannot find the specified file"

 

Is there a way to reset the C:\recycler directory ?

whats in the recycle bin ? can you systematcially delete files from

within the bin to narrow down it is just 1 file/folder or loads.

 

have you tried doing the same thing in safe mode (long shot) ?

 

have you restart the server and tried again ?
