Re: Windows 98SE Error message

glee, did you ever consider getting work with MS...writing clear instructions

to simple problems. I'm resurrecting an old Compaq Presario 2286 desktop as a

glorified typewriter, and lost 'MSODISUP.VXD'

in the shuffle as I didn't realize what the previous owner had there. In

short after a month of Microsoft la-de-dah stonewalling, Novell

disconnectedness, vague written directions from both companies, offers of

reinstalls on the VXD only from pricy and questionable on-line sellers, and

downloading a lot more of Netware than I ever wanted hoping to pluck up this

precious little gem, and endless time wasted to no avail surfing techie

forums...you solve my problem in one short note.

Garumph, now what I am I going to do for aggravation?

Well, a happy

Thanksgiving to you, too!

Glad to hear it helped you. Just write Microsoft and tell them to send me a lot of

money. I need it! ;-)

So, are you an archaeologist in Montana? I was an anthropology major in college

(physical, cultural), but never finished and so I got no degree....or I would

probably be digging there now.

Glee-If MS (with apologies for the association to those disabled

by the affliction) isn't already paying you large amounts of money just to

be you... by all means come on up and enter the program here. UM Missoula is

a good school and when one gets past the 'residence' period rather

inexpensive, I'll gladly receive bills in your name so you can prove you were

here NOW. We need you...I was just looking at the Library catalogue...and NO

ONE has done a thesis on computer applications here, since 1986. That was

Dori. The only language she could speak was PASCAL, but fortunately as a grad

student, she didn't have to deal with an English requirement. Her thesis was

mostly accepted, because no one on her committee could understand her well

enough to contradict her, and then she did

put the State Archaeological Records on line. I know I got stuck with the

thousands of site forms to code...at work study rates almost comparable to

minimum wage.

Don't worry about it...coming back in isn't so hard...and cute lil Ashley

in Forensic

will love you..guaranteed.

LOL....tempting, if only I could afford it!

Actually, I have gone "back in" a couple of times, but so far apart chronologically

that none of my previous credits were acceptable anymore. That might give you a

clue to my age range.

"cute lil Ashley in Forensic," you say.....now you're starting to get my attention.

;-)

Hey, do you mean Ashley McKeown, who dug at the site of colonial Jamestown VA? If

so, she would most definitely qualify as "cute". You're trying to bribe me, I

see.... <eg>

Missoula? Hmmm, I lived there many moons ago. Back when the college

was called MSU, not U of M as it is today.

I wonder if they ever fixed that indoor ice skating rink? I also (vaguely)

remember something about Rocky Mountain Spotted Tick Fever (at least on that

side of the divide - not on the Helena side), but maybe there are no cases

anymore. I think you had to be careful if you (for example) went hiking up

Mt Sentinel.

I think the whole thing sounds fishy! Can it be they want to repopulate

the area with glee clones now that everyone has spots on their nose? But

it isn't safe!
