I have two networked computers. Incoming mail goes to the Inbox on both but sent mail shows in the Sent Items folder only of the computer from which it was sent. Is there a way to make sent mail automatically appear in the Sent Items folder of both computers?

I assume you are talking about a POP3 account.

I don't think you can. The Sent Items are stored on the hard drive of the computer that sent the mail. The Stores Folder will be in C:\Users\Owner\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Mail

It might be possible to do if you change the location of the Stores Folder to a network folder but with your setup I doubt it.

Also consider this from the Vista Help files.

The ability to sync with network folders is not included in Windows Vista Starter, Windows Vista Home Basic, and Windows Vista Home Premium.

Thanks for that, RandyL

Two thoughts.

(1) Would Google Mail be any better?

(2) I have a BT Home Hub and also have a USB hard drive. Could I connect the drive to the hub and set up a network folder on it to do what I am looking for?

(1) Using Google web based mail is an option since everything is done on the web and

not an email client on your computer.

Hi Mtav,

From what i have read above you are after an IMAP account. This basically works the same as your current POP3 account but instead of storing messages on your local computer, the server (which your email account is hosted with) stores messages on the server. Thus, you can have the account setup in multiple locations and still access the same Inbox, Drafts and Sent Items.

Have a look here for more information on IMAP..

The IMAP Connection -- What is IMAP?

You may also like to know that GMail offers an IMAP service at no additional cost. See this FAQ from google.

Which provider are you with for your email account at the moment? They too may also provide an IMAP service??

Hope this helps,

Mike
