jet0703 Posted March 13, 2009 Posted March 13, 2009 I switched from PC to laptop (Acer 5920). As I od much word processing, my hands are getting sore! Whereas before the edge of keyboard could be near edge of desk, with laptop, the front part with its touchpad has to be 'reached over' to access the keys. A colleague has suggested that I could have a traditional keyboard plugged in when using laptop on desk - is that possible? Thanks for any help. Quote
BeeCeeBee Posted March 13, 2009 Posted March 13, 2009 There are two important steps to attaching a keyboard to a laptop. 1. Buy or procure a keyboard (USB) 2. Plug the Keyboard into the laptop. Practice that a few times and it will become second nature :D Seriously if the keyboard has some features beyond the standard you may have to install some software that will come with it. If you fail to do this it will behave --well, like a keyboard without any special features. Quote "Familiarity breeds contempt - and children." Mark Twain
Match Posted March 13, 2009 Posted March 13, 2009 Hi jet I can't see no reason why you should'nt be able to. if you plug a keyboard into the usb port, vista should automatically take you through the steps needed to configure and install it. if not I'm sure we can help you on how to do it. Quote
