Big CI files filling up C drive

We are getting low disk space messages on a Windows 2003 server. The OS

partition is drive C and has only two directories taking much space --

windows and the "System Volume Information" folder. I drilled down inside

the catalog.wci folder and found two files that are 2 GB each. I disabled

the Indexing Service. Is it safe to delete the 00010001.ci file?
