Unless your CPU was being underclocked, it would make no difference OCing the CPU -

So your issue was the CPU and not the GPU which is uncommon.

are you sure it didnt overclock the GPU and not CPU?

The software AI Suite was controlling my CPU voltage. It wouldnt allow the CPU to achieve high voltages and therefore no high Mhz. This was causing the PC to freeze when I tired to run demanding applications. By overclocking the CPU it made sure that it could achieve the required Mhz/Voltage.

 

I could have just un-installed the software and not overclock the CPU. But I like the software.

 

Do you know what I mean now?

 

I'm 100% sure I overclocked the CPU and not the GPU.
