Hey iainface you've become a donating member, thank you very much, I'll leave a message for Dalo as he's the best man to answer that. but I don't think your far wrong apart from I have found that Nvidia and Vista Don't mix well so I would be more inclined to look at a Radeon card.

Hey,

The card you suggested is fine, if you are not planning on playing games etc -

Intel Q6600 @ 4Ghz (Watercooled)

Asus P5K premium black pearl

4GB OCZ Reaper 8500

260GTX

Hi I would like to say nice to see you but it's pretty hard to do while banging your head off a wall :frusty:

Right take card out pc boots and post's (Goes Bleep)

Put Card in pc won't re-boot and won't post (No Bleep)

try putting the card in a different slot if you have one available :)

if that don't work lets just check that the RAM is ok and pull out one stick try re-boot, if that don't work try swapping them, If that don't work put them both back in as that's not the problem.

Well, I'm a little stuck on how to prove or disprove whether or not it's a motherboard fault or if maybe it is monitor related?

The Guy we want is Dalo but don't think he will be here until Monday, Tootech or Dirty Polo may drop by and I'll leave a note for them to have a look.

but short of suggesting buying a DVI to VGA adapter, or a new Monitor, I'm a bit stuck, but maybe they will have some idea's that don't cost anything.

guess what its sorted :) when i put the old graphics card and reinstalled the drivers it works. The wife thinks i'm a little mad cheering as my pc just restarts now for the 15th time but i'm that pleased. I dont really understand what has happened cos i both updated and reinstalled the drivers last week to no avail? Might have got these from a different source maybe? Thank you all, especially match (who said to reinstall drivers a week ago) Thoroughly impressed on all levels with the help i've received. Just hope people keep donating after they have received help to keep this service alive. Many thanks again.

Ps Do You know any one who wants to buy a spare graphics card. ;)
