Guest me Posted November 29, 2007 Posted November 29, 2007 All, I'm exploring window 2008 and am getting to grips with bcdedit, one thing I have noticed is that on the old boot.ini an entrey points to the hardware not the windows drive letter i.e. multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(2)\WINDOWS Under bcdedit a boot menu option only lists a osdevice or device as C: How can I find out what physical device in my system C: is refering too ? I ask this as in a DR we recover servers to new hardware and the Os drive (C:) can be on partition 1 / 2 /3 and we could easily edit the boot.ini to reflect this. Can anyone help Cheers Paul
